Help Us Connect Learners with Scholarships for Free Licenses
Since our launch in 2020, EnGen has supported tens of thousands of learners in improving their English proficiency, connecting with new career pathways, and accessing economic mobility. By investing in this untapped but high potential workforce, EnGen is also helping local employers access new talent pools and advance employee recruitment, retention, and engagement goals.
We’re just getting started – and we won’t stop until we’ve served all of the 13 million adult English learners in the U.S.
We need your help to spread the word.
We are giving new learners – individuals who are not being served by our current employer and organizational partners and therefore may not be able to otherwise access our platform – a scholarship opportunity to access EnGen’s mobile-first, career-aligned English courses and coaching for FREE in 2024.
This commitment to social impact is part of our mission as a Certified B Corporation. Last year, based on referrals from you, we connected 150 learners with scholarships for free EnGen licenses, including access to live online classes and one-on-one career coaching.
These learners are making significant progress towards their real-world goals – and their stories inspire us to continue this work through 2024:
A health care worker, originally from El Salvador, is feeling more confident in communicating at his job in housekeeping at a hospital, thanks to support from EnGen. His EnGen coach is now offering step-by-step support in preparing for a long-term goal: certification either as a sterile processing technician or a phlebotomist, both high-demand fields that offer family-sustaining wages.
A newcomer from Somalia is learning English to support his goals of social integration in the United States, building more connections in his community. Having arrived in the U.S. less than a year ago, this learner has moved from a “High Beginner” to a “Low Intermediate” level of English, with support from EnGen’s platform, group classes, and coaches.
EnGen has helped an entrepreneur from Colombia move from a “beginner” to “intermediate” level of English, boosting his confidence in communicating with clients as part of his job at a hair salon. After taking courses like English for Cosmetology and English for Customer Service, he sees a path towards his long-term goal of opening his own salon and employing others in his community.

EnGen will accept scholarship applications on an ongoing basis. Learners may apply directly or be nominated by completing the form below. EnGen will award scholarships via a lottery; we’ll keep a waitlist to serve additional learners in the future.

To qualify, learners must be an immigrant, refugee, or speaker of a language other than English who would benefit from support in gaining English proficiency. Learners must not be employed by or affiliated with a current EnGen partner or client; this offer is designed to support new learners who would not otherwise be able to access EnGen’s platform.
