Who We Are

Astonishingly, only 4% of adult English learners in the U.S. have access to ESL instruction. EnGen is here to change this.

EnGen is a skills-focused, virtual English language learning platform for organizations and employers working with limited English proficient employees. EnGen is the brainchild of Dr. Katie Brown, our founder and chief education officer, who holds a PhD in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and over twenty years of experience in applied language research.

We’re here to make it easier for adult learners to access high-quality English instruction tied to their real-world needs.

 Thank you to our Investors

EnGen would like to extend our sincere thanks to those individuals and groups that have invested in our vision.

“The United States has a long and rich history of immigrants and refugees arriving to pursue a better life, with every generation experiencing struggles with discrimination, access, and integration. The increasing reliance on technology in the workplace creates new and challenging barriers that prevent individuals from realizing their full economic potential. We invested in EnGen because we believe they will be the digital solution that breaks down these barriers for first generation and newly arriving English-language learners alike.”

- Dr. Joy Ippolito, American Family Insurance Institute, Social Impact Investment Director
