Position Overview
EnGen’s Education Team is seeking a Writing Workshop Instructor to provide excellent writing support and feedback to our Writing Workshop learners. The Writing Workshop Instructor will monitor and respond to incoming learner writing submissions and work together with other Writing Workshop Instructors to provide learners with clear, level-appropriate, actionable feedback.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate the EnGen Writing Workshop, providing asynchronous feedback on learner submissions
Make personalized recommendations based on learners’ goals and writing needs
Minimum Requirements
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
A strong passion for helping immigrants and refugees remove English as a barrier to achieving career advancement, economic mobility, and better quality of life
Exceptional writing skills
B.A. or B.S. and TEFL certification, M.A. TESOL or equivalent preferred
Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience
Experience teaching writing to or tutoring ELLs and providing feedback
Proactive in asking questions and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Comfortable using customer relationship management platforms
Experience using Google Workspace applications like Google Sheets and Documents
Available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week

Contractor position (10 hours a week), schedule set as needed
$25/hr
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
