Patient Care & Support
The Patient Care & Support pathway introduces learners to critical patient care skills including how to communicate with patients in-person and over the phone, as well as how to perform administrative tasks like scheduling patient appointments, collecting insurance, and medical history information. This pathway explores basic anatomy and physiology, common injuries and illnesses, and provides an overview of medication, injections, and wound care. Learners will have a better grasp of medical legal and ethical standards that encompass patient rights and HIPAA rules with a thorough understanding of different medical careers including patient care technicians, phlebotomists, CNAs, LPNs, medical, and dental assistants.
