This page has all the info you need to begin your journey to improve your English. Please take a couple of minutes to read through the details below.

  • EnGen is a free online platform, available 24/7 on your computer, tablet, or phone.

  • It’s self-paced, letting you manage your own schedule. You will have access to EnGen for 3 months.

  • Helpful tools include courses specifically created by EnGen and Sherwin-Williams for the painting industry, vocabulary review, grammar assistance, and pronunciation practice.

Get Started in 5 Easy Steps!

#1 - Fill out Registration Form

Scroll down to the end of this page and complete the registration form. You will be enrolled in EnGen within one business day.

 

#2 - Install the EnGen App

If you plan to use your mobile phone to learn on EnGen, you will need to install the free EnGen app for Android or iPhone.

 

#3 - Activate Your EnGen Account

Once you are enrolled, EnGen will send you an email titled ”Welcome to EnGen - Activate Your Account”. Click on “Activate My Account” and follow the prompts.

#4 - Take Assessment

After you activate your account, you’ll need to take the 40-minute Proficiency Assessment (PA). This test will measure your current English language abilities and place you in the appropriate course level. Don’t worry about how you do on the test - we just want to make sure your starting place is correct for you.

#5 - Start Your Courses

Based on the results of your assessment, EnGen will recommend your first three courses, which will include a short orientation course to help you learn how to use the EnGen platform. Plan to study 2-3 hours per week!
