A REFRESHED ENGEN PLATFORM

Starting December 31, learners will enjoy an updated version of EnGen’s platform, featuring more intuitive navigation, an adaptive, low-stress English proficiency assessment, and a new writing tool that provides clear, supportive feedback.

Expanding Learning with Cell-Ed

EnGen has acquired Cell-Ed, a global leader in accessible, low-barrier adult education and workforce learning. EnGen will now support English learners, native English speakers with skill gaps, and workers interested in learning Spanish with offerings from foundational literacy to advanced, industry-focused English.

Q1. What is changing at EnGen?

EnGen is expanding its ability to serve learners by acquiring Cell-Ed and launching a refreshed, more intuitive platform. These enhancements allow us to support a wider range of literacy, language, and workforce skills and to deliver a smoother, more personalized learning experience.

Q2. Will anything change for my learners?

With exception of scheduled maintenance on December 30 and potentially part of December 31, learners will continue using EnGen without interruption. Through the updated platform, they’ll gain more intuitive navigation, more personalized content, and new features like our writing feedback tool—all designed to help them build confidence and skills more quickly.

Q3. Will learners lose their progress or data?

No. All learner profiles, progress, history, and reporting data will transfer seamlessly to the new EnGen platform. The only change is the link learners will use to log in; EnGen will send a multilingual email with the updated link and simple instructions.

Q4. What support will be available during the platform transition?

EnGen’s Customer Success, Coaching, Operations, and Enrollment teams will support learners and administrators throughout the rollout with office hours and new materials. The updated platform will also include built-in guidance to help learners and administrators get oriented quickly.

Q5. What has been updated in the EnGen platform?

The updated EnGen platform offers a more intuitive, personalized, and engaging learning experience built on flexible, modern technology. Key enhancements include:

These updates were shaped by feedback from early users, learners, and administrators across the country, who shared what worked, what didn’t, and what would help them succeed faster. Our refreshed platform incorporates these insights, offering a more accessible and responsive experience for everyone.

Q6. When will the updated EnGen platform be available?

To prepare for the launch of our refreshed platform, EnGen will be temporarily offline for maintenance on December 30 (midnight December 30 to midnight December 31.)

The updated EnGen platform will open for all users on December 31. Administrators and learners will receive detailed guidance and reminders ahead of the transition.

Q7. Do I need to do anything for my learners to access the updated platform?

The transition will be automatic. EnGen will provide a new login link and step-by-step instructions. Administrators may need to help learners locate or bookmark the updated link. Otherwise, no action is required.

Q8. How will reporting and analytics change for administrators?

Over the next several months, EnGen will release enhanced analytics—guided by administrator feedback—to provide real-time visibility into learner progress, engagement, and outcomes across your program.

Q9. What is Cell-Ed?

Now part of EnGen, Cell-Ed is a global leader in accessible, low-barrier adult education and workforce learning. Cell-Ed offers:

• Learning with no smartphone, WiFi, data plan, or email required.

• Audio- and text-based instruction by phone, WhatsApp, SMS, or web.

• Courses in foundational literacy, numeracy, digital skills, financial literacy, parenting, work readiness, and more.

• Spanish for the workplace for native English speakers who need Spanish to communicate effectively on the job.

Cell-Ed is an ideal solution for learners with limited technology access or emerging digital skills.

Q10. How and when can my learners access Cell-Ed?

Cell-Ed is available to current EnGen customers upon request. Current EnGen customers can email partnerships@getengen.com to find out of Cell-Ed is right for your learners.
