EnGen is proud to partner with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) in the Virtual Career-Aligned English as a Second Language (VCESL) program, a statewide initiative that connects Colorado businesses and workforce centers with access to career-focused English instruction for employees and job seekers. 

VCESL’s goal is to upskill incumbent workers and build new talent pipelines for Colorado employers.

Program Requirements and Next Steps

The VCESL program is open to Colorado-based businesses and workforce centers that employ and serve adult English learners. Participating organizations will have expectations around goal setting, an accountable point-of-contact, and regular reporting. If you are interested in learning more, please complete the form below and someone will contact you.

Employer: Goals could include hiring, retention, advancement of employees, and certification acquisition (e.g. OSHA). Requires the learner to commit to working with an EnGen coach.

Workforce Centers: Goals could include the creation of a new path to employment, support for clients in an existing path, career training, and partnership with an employer. Requires the learner commit to working with an EnGen coach.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Access to the EnGen platform is fully funded through the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

  • Learners must be 18 years of age or older, Colorado residents, and English Language Learners.

  • Learners will speak to an EnGen enrollment advisor to determine if they are a good fit for the program, and the learner will decide which date they will like to start.

  • Learners will have access to the platform for 6 months.

  • Once learners are enrolled, they can download our mobile app by searching “EnGen” in the app store, or by using the following link to access EnGen on a computer. EnGen Link

  • EnGen is individualized based on a learner’s level, goals and interests. They improve their English by doing short, real-world lessons that are aligned with specific industries and careers. Access live group classes and workshops help learners practice speaking, listening, and writing. Learners are assigned a multilingual coach to assist with onboarding, goal setting, study habits, and technical support.
