We are happy you’re learning English with us!
This page has all the info you need to start your journey to improve your English. Please take a couple of minutes to read through the details below.
ESL with Homebridge and EnGen
These ESL courses are designed for homecare providers participating in the Career Pathways or CalGrows programs for whom English is a second language.
All ESL courses are part of the Adult Education Pathway for Career Pathways.
Each ESL course takes 2 to 3 hours to complete. After you complete each course, you will get emailed a certificate of completion from EnGen.
EnGen has a wide range of courses that are not part of the Career Pathways program. You can explore any and all of EnGen’s courses and content, but you will only receive compensation for successfully completing the Career Pathways courses listed here.
Get Started!
① Create Your Account
Scroll down this page to the “Create Your Login” option. Then use the activation code that Homebridge sent to you via email when you registered for ESL.
② Take the Proficiency Test
After you create your login, you’ll be prompted to take an assessment test. This test will measure your current English language abilities and place you in the appropriate course level. Don’t worry about how you do on the test - we just want to make sure your starting place is correct for you.
③ Start Your First Course
Based on the results of your assessment test, EnGen will recommend your first course. As part of your first course, you will complete a brief 20-minute overview of the EnGen learning platform.
The EnGen Platform
The Homebridge teamed up with EnGen for ESL courses.
EnGen is a free online platform, available 24/7 on your computer, tablet, or phone.
It’s self-paced, letting you manage your own schedule.
Exciting tools on EnGen include a word bank, vocabulary guides, and live online classes for English practice. All available to you!
Remember, while you can explore all EnGen courses, you only get paid for Career Pathways classes.
Career Pathways ESL Course Catalog
You can find all the Career Pathways courses here.
The catalog includes information that you will need in making payment claims upon course completion, such as: course title, number, and duration.
