Digital Literacy

 

In this course, learners will gain an understanding of how to use a computer. They will learn the basics of computer hardware, operating systems, and software. They will also explore how to use email and navigate the internet safely. Overall, learners will:

  • Become familiar with the physical computer and its basic hardware.

  • Navigate Mac and Windows operating systems at a basic level.

  • Create text files and save them.

  • Access email and the internet in a safe way.

The course consists of 100 lessons in 10 units and 10 achievements tests. As part of EnGen’s extensive course library, our Digital Literacy pathway can serve as an onramp or in combination with other career pathways including our Beginner and Intermediate Business Skills, Certified Nursing Assistant, Manufacturing, and more. Helping your learners build their digital literacy skills builds the foundational skills necessary to improve their lives and advance in their job search or in their careers.
