Social Integration for Newcomers courses

In these courses, learners will learn how to integrate into social situations specific to the U.S., both daily physical interactions, as well as digital interactions.

The English that learners need to do essential tasks in everyday life as a newcomer living in the United States will be taught. Learners will improve social skills, learn about U.S. systems and culture, and better navigate their new environment.

By the end of these courses, learners will be able to:

  • Navigate social situations, make phone calls, and attend appointments and job interviews

  • Use different forms of transportation to travel around town

  • Communicate with your child's teachers and get involved as a parent at school

  • Identify and understand payroll deductions and income taxes

  • Understand information on signs, labels, menus, mail, and other important documents

  • Use a computer to browse the internet, send emails, and shop online

  • Attend video meetings and access online health services

  • Perform various transactions through online banking services
